The first in her family to go to college, Rachel graduated from Mississippi State University with degrees in Public Relations and Spanish. An Americorps opportunity took her to Houston to teach in elementary after-school programs. She then began her career as a teacher at YES Prep Public Schools, teaching 6th grade Writing and 10th grade World History. The promise of cooler weather took her to Seattle, where she was the Events and Project Manager at the Center on Reinventing Public Education. She was also an Event Planner with Opus Agency, on assignment at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

When I'm not at Work
When Rachel isn’t busy researching the latest and greatest event venues, you can find her teaching her 5-year old how to read, walking her 3 dogs around the neighborhood, and dreaming up the family’s next travel adventure.
